Become a WLR Ambassador
Reading Ambassadors are the core to WLR's success. They are what makes WLR a unique social innovation. Using their skills and connection to the local community, they create the fun read aloud experience that children seek. Anyone in South Africa can become a Reading Ambassador in their neighbourhood through our training.

Corporate Social Responsibility
Young Leaders Academy, under whose auspices the We Love Reading programme operates in South Africa, is a non-profit organization registered at the Department of Social Development in the Republic of South Africa. WLR's work is made possible with support from and cooperation with a growing network of private companies and NGOs. Support is not limited to donations β WLR provides private companies an avenue for their own corporate social responsibility through methods like sponsorship of a WLR programme in a particular location, or the development of a children's book in a local language with a theme related to the company's sector.
Examples of such corporate social responsibility could include a courier company that can send shipments of WLR books to within and outside South Africa for free; a company can sponsor the implementation of a training workshop for reading ambassadors; book publishers and book sellers who can sponsor books both in English and mother tongue languages. International companies can also take the opportunity to sponsor YLA's WLR's work.
